Nick discussed the lab’s latest work on the cell cycle regulators present in the last eukaryotic common ancestor and how this network was rewired in Fungi. This was part of a symposium on the “Origins and early evolution of eukaryotes” at the 2018 Phycological Society of America and International Society of Protistologists annual meeting at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Thanks to the symposium organizers Courtney Stairs and Laura Eme. Exciting talks, beautiful campus, and a memorable dinner at the Museum of Anthropology!
